LOVENOX (Enoxaparin) is an injectable anticoagulant used to prevent and treat blood clots. To use LOVENOX Injection 40mg/0.4ml, follow these detailed instructions:
Before using the injection, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to ensure cleanliness.
Gather all necessary supplies. You will need the LOVENOX syringe, alcohol swabs, and a sharps disposal container.
Remove the LOVENOX syringe from its packaging. Inspect it for any discoloration or particles. If the solution appears cloudy or has particles, do not use it.
Choose an injection site. The preferred sites are the fatty tissue of the abdomen, at least 2 inches away from the navel, or the outer thigh. Rotate injection sites to avoid irritation.
Clean the injection site with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry completely.
Pinch the skin at the injection site to create a fold. Hold the syringe like a pencil and insert the needle at a 90-degree angle to the skin.
Inject the medication slowly and steadily. Do not aspirate the syringe (pull back on the plunger) before injecting.
After injecting, remove the needle quickly and apply gentle pressure to the injection site with a clean cotton ball or gauze.
Dispose of the syringe in a sharps disposal container immediately after use. Do not recap the needle.
Wash your hands again after disposing of the syringe.
