ACTIVE INGREDIENT:

  • Rivastigmine

USE:

Rivastigmine Transdermal Patch is used to treat mild to moderate dementia associated with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Rivastigmine belongs to a class of drugs known as cholinesterase inhibitors, which work by increasing the levels of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter involved in memory and cognition, thereby improving the symptoms of dementia.

RECOMMENDED DOSAGE:

  • Initial Dose: Typically, one 4.6 mg/24 hour patch applied once daily.

  • Maintenance Dose: After at least 4 weeks, the dose may be increased to the 9.5 mg/24 hour patch, and then to the 13.3 mg/24 hour patch based on tolerance and response.

  • Maximum Dose: 13.3 mg/24 hour patch applied once daily.

DIRECTIONS:

  • Apply the Rivastigmine patch to clean, dry, hairless skin on the upper or lower back, upper arm, or chest.

  • Rotate the application site daily to avoid skin irritation.

  • Press the patch firmly in place for about 30 seconds to ensure it sticks well.

  • Replace the patch with a new one every 24 hours. Do not reuse the same site for at least 14 days.

  • If a patch falls off, apply a new one to a different site and continue the regular schedule.

  • Do not cut the patch.

CAUTIONS:

  • Inform your healthcare provider of any allergies or medical conditions, especially heart problems, stomach/intestinal issues, seizures, or asthma.

  • Keep patches out of reach of children and pets.

  • Dispose of used patches safely by folding them in half with the sticky sides together and placing them in the original sachet or another safe container.
