Before using Oflox (Ofloxacin) 0.3% w/v Eye Drop, ensure you wash your hands thoroughly to prevent contamination. This is crucial for maintaining eye health and preventing infection.
To begin, shake the bottle gently to mix the solution. This ensures that the active ingredient is evenly distributed. Next, tilt your head back slightly and look up at the ceiling. With one hand, gently pull down the lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
With your other hand, hold the bottle upside down and position it above your eye. Be careful not to touch the tip of the dropper to your eye or any other surface to avoid contamination. Squeeze the bottle gently to release one drop into the pocket created by your lower eyelid.
After administering the drop, close your eye gently and do not blink. This allows the medication to spread evenly across the surface of your eye. To prevent the solution from draining away, you may press lightly on the tear duct located at the inner corner of your eye for about one minute.
If your doctor has prescribed more than one drop, wait at least five minutes before administering the next drop to allow the first dose to be absorbed properly. If you are using any other eye medications, consult your healthcare provider for the appropriate timing between applications.
Always follow the dosage instructions provided by your healthcare provider. Typically, the medication is used two to four times a day, depending on the severity of your condition. Do not discontinue use or alter the dosage without consulting your doctor.
After using the eye drops, replace the cap securely on the bottle and store it at room temperature. Ensure the bottle is kept away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children. If you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects, contact your healthcare provider immediately for further advice.
