COMBIGAN 0.2/0.5% is an ophthalmic solution that combines two active ingredients, Brimonidine and Timolol, to effectively manage elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This combination therapy works synergistically to reduce eye pressure, providing enhanced efficacy compared to monotherapy.
Brimonidine, an alpha-2 adrenergic agonist, decreases aqueous humor production and increases uveoscleral outflow, while Timolol, a non-selective beta-blocker, reduces aqueous humor formation. Together, they offer a comprehensive approach to lowering intraocular pressure.
COMBIGAN is typically administered as one drop in the affected eye(s) twice daily. It is important for patients to follow the prescribed dosage and consult their healthcare provider with any questions or concerns. Common side effects may include eye discomfort, dry mouth, or fatigue, but most patients tolerate the medication well.
This product is a suitable option for individuals looking for an effective treatment to manage their eye condition, especially when other therapies have proven insufficient. Always discuss with your eye care professional to determine if COMBIGAN is the right choice for your specific needs.

COMBIGAN 0.2/0.5% is a prescription eye drop solution that combines two active ingredients, brimonidine and timolol, to help lower intraocular pressure in individuals with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. To ensure effective use of this medication, follow these detailed instructions.
Before using COMBIGAN, wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to prevent contamination.
Shake the bottle gently to mix the solution evenly.
Remove the cap from the bottle and avoid touching the dropper tip to any surface, including your eye or hands, to keep it sterile.
With your head tilted back slightly, pull down your lower eyelid to create a small pocket.
Hold the bottle upside down and gently squeeze the bottle to release one drop into the pocket of your lower eyelid. Be careful not to let the dropper tip touch your eye or eyelid.
After administering the drop, close your eye and press your finger gently against the inner corner of your eye (near the nose) for about one minute. This helps to prevent the medication from draining away and increases its effectiveness.
If you need to use other eye drops, wait at least 5 to 10 minutes before applying them to allow for proper absorption of COMBIGAN.
After using the drops, replace the cap securely on the bottle. Do not rinse the dropper or bottle.
Store the eye drops at room temperature, away from light and moisture, and keep them out of reach of children.
Follow your healthcare provider's instructions regarding the frequency of use, typically one drop in the affected eye(s) twice a day, or as directed.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it's almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not double up on doses.
Monitor for any side effects, such as irritation, redness, or changes in vision, and contact your healthcare provider if you experience any severe reactions.
